A guided tour of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, located at the site of the 1945 atomic bombing. The park is adjacent to the Conference venue.
A one-hour chartered ferry ride to the island.
A guided tour of Itsukushima Shrine, a Shinto shrine built over the sea on wooden stilts, known for its large vermilion torii gate standing in the water. Founded in the 6th century. A UNESCO World Heritage site.
Lunch will feature local Hiroshima cuisine. Light refreshments with vegan and halal options will also be provided, but participants with specific dietary requirements are encouraged to bring their own food to ensure their needs are fully met.
Please select your afternoon plan at the time of registration. The Mt. Misen and Daishō-in courses are limited to 20 participants each (first-come, first-served).
Hiking or taking the ropeway up Mt. Misen (the island's mountain, approx. 535m). Limited to 20 participants.
Visiting Daishō-in, a Shingon Buddhist temple on the mountainside. Limited to 20 participants.
Walking through the town at your own pace. The town has traditional shops and local foods such as grilled oysters and momiji manjū.
Return transportation is not included. Participants make their own way back to Hiroshima using the public ferry, train, or bus. Travel time to central Hiroshima is approximately 45–60 minutes.
